Origin of the program
Playball is a program which was developed by a sport coach in a sport environment 24 years ago in South Africa. Russel
Wobbe, Chairman of Playball, was a committed tennis coach who in his teaching of children became convinced that the value
of sport was underestimated by educators. He noticed that children who were competent in sport, were generally more outgoing,
popular, confident and assertive than those lacked competence. Playball's success as a concept is based on a unique vision
of life skills through sports participation.
